Overview
Cuprinol Exterior Wood Preserver is a quick drying water-based preservative for rough sawn and smooth garden timbers. Suitable for cladding, fencing, sheds, greenhouses and summerhouses. The active ingredients penetrate the timber to prevent rot, decay and blue stain.

Preparation
Always ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry and free from any dust, algae, fungi or moss.
- To clean wood give it a good brush with a stiff brush to remove any dirt, debris or loose wood
- If the wood has been previously stained, painted or varnished, we would recommend to strip it back to the bare wood. For previously stained decking you can use

Application
Before applying stir the product thoroughly and test a small area to ensure colour and adhesion. Colours can vary dependant on surface to be treated.
- Apply 2-3 coats evenly
- Allow the previous coat to soak in before applying the next coat, usually 2-6 hours under normal weather conditions
- Recoat within 2-3 days of previous coat
- Apply only in dry conditions, above 5°C and when bad weather is not forecast
- Colour in the can may be different to the final shade when dry
- Avoiding splashing of surrounding plants, brickwork, glass, PVCu, etc. Any splashing should be cleaned up immediately
- For a strong colour change more coats may be needed
- If using more than one tin it’s advisable to mix together in a large container or finish in a corner before starting a new can to ensure consistency in colour
Note: Always follow the manufacturer instructions found on the tin.
Aftercare & Storage
To maintain your treated wood reapply a maintenance coat every year to prolong the life. Occasional cleaning with a dampened cloth or brush can also prolong the life of your treated wood.
Store any remaining product in dry conditions and protect from frost and sunlight.
